The night came, but sleep did not;
Through the night, I lay and I thought.
What am I doing here? Who am I?
Who will even remember me after I die?
Dawn broke, splitting the night sky;
And even then I had no reply.
My thoughts, they wandered far and wide;
Astride an imaginary horse, they went for a ride.
The questions that plagued my mind, were always the same;
What was my purpose in life, what did I crave?
Then as the sun shone in, bright through the shades;
Light flooded my mind, I felt my doubts fade.
I was a player, and life was a game;
I could not leave the field, could not complain.
There was no break, no respite, no rest;
Irrespective of win or loss, the game had to be played.
As I realized all this, my mind I made up;
I would continuously strive to compete and never giveup.
These inspiring thoughts brought me to my feet;
The blood gushing through my veins, rapid and swift.
As I stood there, another realization dawned;
I hadn't slept the whole night, tired I yawned.
So back I went to bed, and I slumbered;
The battles of life could wait a bit longer.
I knew, I had to compete, win success and fame;
But then I figured, "What the Hell, Its just a game!".
